And I know when I say that, I just sound like a whiny girl who’s obsessed with counting calories, but I swear I’m not. I either have to just get a tall when I let him run wild, or suck it up and make him use 2%. ![]() He may have put whipped cream in the blender too. This is what I get for telling Alex he can use whatever kind of milk he wants in my frappuccino: a half & half milkshake and a really full tummy. I’ve had this drink for 4 hours and I’ve only managed to finish half of it. If you get one, let me know what you think! Hopefully I didn’t oversell □ You need something to take with you anyway. You could Google it, but won’t it be more fun to just trust me and experience the delicious unknown? And while you’re there, throw in a frappuccino, because they are yummy. These instructions made me think of mind erasers, something that we drank in college with layers of alcohol (and coincidentally some coffee) that you had to drink in one smooth move through a straw. Seriously though, the anticipation while they made the undertow was blowing my mind. They said I couldn’t ask what was in it (though I watched very carefully as they made it) and I had to drink it right away and really quickly. So naturally, I was instantly curious, and Alex said he’d make me one right then. Never heard of an undertow? Neither had I. I already had my frappuccino when Alvaro told me that if I ever have a bad day, I should ask him or Alex to make me an undertow. I am buzzing from something called an “undertow.” But it’s not from the frappuccino–I’ve only drank about a third of it so far. ![]() Tall mocha cookie crumble frappuccino, extra coffee But if you want a little less coffee, try doing it over a vanilla bean frappuccino. I got mine affogato in addition to the coffee that’s already in there. ![]() They make the frap, pour it into the cup, pull a shot, and then pour it on top so it seeps down into it and stirs up all sorts of deliciousness. Have you ever watched them make a caramel macchiato, where they steam the milk first, and then pull the shots on top? It’s kind of like that. He apologized profusely (because he has so much control over the air conditioning), walked with us up the hill, and paid for our drinks. I should also mention that because Alex is awesome, he actually bumped into us yesterday when we found out the normal locale was closed. So I was doing most of my job with my iPhone and stressing out all day, and 2) my usual Starbucks was having HVAC issues, so I had to walk a few extra blocks up a hill to the other nearby store, and it of course wasn’t as good as when Alex makes my drinks. No email, no internet, no phones, no nothing. And even though the power in our office was on yesterday, that was the only thing that worked. I didn’t even know it was going to rain, let alone storm like that, but it’s left a lot of the area without power for 4 days now. Here’s the (kind of) brief version why: 1) I don’t know if you heard, but there was this giant storm in the DC area on Friday night. ![]() I got this drink yesterday too, but I didn’t properly enjoy it. But no worries, I have recently remembered/re-discovered it, and am making up for lost time. It’s something that I kind of forgot about since my time behind the Starbucks counter.
